Residents in the Pottsville Area School District should prepare for a tax increase.
According to the Republican Herald, the school board voted unanimously Wednesday for a proposed final budget of $40,768,990 that hikes taxes 2.025 mills to 40.599 mills. The increase for a home assessed at $50,000 could be $101.23 more a year, amounting to a school district tax bill of $2,029.93.
A final budget is scheduled for adoption June 20; the deadline is June 30.
