D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc. stopped tours of its Tampa, Florida, brewery, as of April 17 but as the Republican Herald learned, there could be something big in the works.
According to reports, Yuengling has filed plans with the city that include a potential 140,000-square-foot hotel next to its brewery, signaling the company’s entrance into the hospitality business as it angles to create a better consumer experience in Florida.
In addition, Yuengling also is floating the idea of a museum, restaurant, tasting room, microbrewery, beer garden and a conference center on the site.
According to Food & Wine magazine, Yuengling is just the latest brewery to flirt with the idea of a beer-themed hotel.
