Schuylkill Haven Police have charged a woman for the death of a baby.
According to Skook News, 35 year old Amanda Vernitsky, of Schuylkill Haven was charged Wednesday, for the death of a 5 month old boy at her home in June 2017.
Vernitsky told police the child had fell, however, an autopsy found that the child suffered from severe head trauma and police say the injuries were not consistent with Vernitsky’s statement.
She was arraigned and faces numerous charges, including murder in the third degree.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 14.
