Amnesty Program...

Pennsylvania is giving breaks to those who owe money to the Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund in the coming months.

The State Department Labor & Industry is kicking off the second unemployment compensation “amnesty campaign” for people who received unemployment compensation benefits they were not entitled to and employers who have not made mandatory tax contributions.

The program offers an official pardon to repay what they owe at a discount. Claimants with questions can call 855-284-8545, and employers can call 866-403-6163.

The total amount owed to the Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund from both claimants and employers eligible for the amnesty program is $651 million.

The program runs through Sept. 30.
