A 3-year-old girl and her great-grandfather were both killed, in a one-car crash, in Northumberland County, Wednesday morning.
Police said the driver, 68 year old Allen Travitz Sr., crashed his SUV head-on into a concrete wall along West Montgomery Street around 8 a.m.
Authorities said Travitz and his 3-year-old great-granddaughter Mackenzie Mae Garber died in the wreck.
Investigators believe Travitz was driving downhill on West Montgomery Street but aren’t sure if he had a medical emergency or if the vehicle malfunctioned.
Police do not believe Travitz was wearing a seatbelt and are unsure if the child was strapped into one. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
