Two men are facing charges after leading police on a chase in Schuylkill County.
Police say just before 11 Tuesday night they attempted to pull over a truck heading north on Route 61 for an equipment violation near Mauch Chunk Street in Pottsville.
They say 31-year-old Dustin Parsons, of Schuylkill Haven, failed to stop and began to accelerate to try to elude the officers and eventually drove his truck off of the roadway. He and his passenger, 18-year-old Tomasso Dino, of Pottsville, ran into the woods but were eventually taken into custody.
Police found meth and heroin inside the vehicle along with illegal registration plates.
Parsons was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi, Tremont, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $30,000 bail.
An investigation into the incident continues.
