Schuylkill County will see more than $48 million in road improvements over the next four years and more than $151 million over the next 12.
According to the draft of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance’s Transportation Improvement Plan. NEPA’s Metropolitan Planning Organization, which is a partnership between different governments, transportation providers and the public in Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Schuylkill counties, includes the first four years of the state Department of Transportation’s 12-year plan of programmed funding.
Susan Smith, county planning director, said this TIP is the first four years of the whole 12-year plan. Over the total of the 12-year plan, close to $732 million will be coming into the NEPA region for construction.
