The two entities seeking a medical marijuana grower/processor permit for Schuylkill County were denied Tuesday.
DocHouse LLC and TheraBloom Inc. were not among the 12 awarded a permit by the state Department of Health.
Applicants have 10 days from Tuesday to file an appeal. April Hutcheson, with the DOH, said a timeline has not been established for when the applications for the second phase will be made available, saying the first phase has to be completed first.
There are 13 additional grower/dispensary permits that can be issued. Schuylkill County is in the Southeast region, which includes Berks, Lancaster, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Philadelphia and Bucks counties. Two grower/processor permits were announced for Berks County.
