A Schuylkill County man is facing charges after being found unconscious in a vehicle, with a gun on his lap, and two young children in the back seat.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said about 4:10 a.m. on June 22 emergency medical personnel were dispatched to 532 Third St., Port Carbon, for an unresponsive man sitting in a vehicle.
On scene the responders found a man, later identified as 26 year old Travis Gorey, of Port Carbon, sitting in the driver’s seat with a firearm resting in his lap.
As the responders approached the vehicle they also saw two small children sitting in car seats in the back. After troopers arrived on scene they were able to secure the firearm from Gorey.
The children were removed from the vehicle and taken for observation. They were later cleared and determined not to be injured.
Gorey was arraigned and committed to the Schuylkill county prison, unable to post bail.
