The unit block of South Grant Street, in Shenandoah, was closed to traffic Thursday after two houses collapsed into the street.
According to the Republican Herald, the buildings at 25-27 S. Grant St. collapsed around 7 p.m., sending debris into the street.
Shenandoah police said the buildings were in deplorable condition prior to the collapse and that the borough street department will work to move the debris off the street and back onto the property and then determine the next step to take in having the buildings razed.
