47 year old Holly Ann Rhode, of Pottsville, was jailed Tuesday after being charged by Pottsville police with repeatedly assaulting a Mechanicsville woman over a three day period.
According to the Republican Herald, Police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky said the assaults came to light about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday when officers were called to the 500 block of South Centre Street for a report of a naked woman with severe bruising running inside a business.
The victim said that Rhode had beaten her with a baseball bat, a chair, a fire extinguisher and her fists during the attacks and had also restrained her inside an apartment at 509 S. Centre St.
Rhode was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $100,000 straight cash bail.
The chief said the victim was taken to a Pottsville hospital where she was reported to be stable condition.
