31-year-old Martina M. Barnhart, of Minersville, was killed in an ATV crash, over the weekend, in Foster Township.
According to the Republican Herald, Foster Township Police Chief James Nettles said the crash occurred about 9 p.m. Saturday, on a dirt road about a mile east Valley Road as 46 year old Patricia Socko, of Pottsville, was driving a four-seat side-by-side vehicle, on the dirt road on Reading Anthracite Property when she was tried to make a left turn causing the machine to roll over onto its passenger’s side.
Nettles said, Barnhart, who was a rear passenger, fell off and became pinned between the vehicle and the dirt road. Two other passengers were not hurt.
Nettles said the cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy that will be performed on Barnhart and that the investigation into the crash is continuing.
