3 Homeless after fire...

Three people are homeless after flames severely damaged a house in Cass Township early Sunday morning.

According to the Republican Herald, Cass Township Fire Chief Pete Ricigliano said crews were called to the home at 140 High Road about 4:15 a.m. and found heavy fire coming from windows on the upper floor of the structure.

The occupants of the home were able to escape, however one firefighter suffered a minor injury but did not require transport to a hospital.

The home’s owner, 24 year old Vince DeMarco, his girlfriend and her grandmother were being assisted by the American Red Cross.

Ricigliano said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
