The Pottsville Business Association has decided to renew its support for the Pottsville Farmers Market.
At the organization’s July meeting, Karen Kenderdine, PBA’s president and treasurer, introduced a committee that will oversee the market and develop plans to make it bigger next year, noting that some local businessmen, decided to form a Pottsville Farmers Market Committee to further develop the event.
The plan is to expand the farmers market, although it’s too late for this year. But, going forward, the committee work to make the farmers market something bigger and better to bring more pedestrians downtown.
The Pottsville Farmers Market was started in 2003, and it has traditionally been held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at the Arch Street parking lot, which is owned by the Pottsville Parking Authority.
Every year, the market starts in June and wraps in November.
