County Administrator Mark J. Scarbinsky announced Wednesday that Schuylkill County should be out of the nursing home business in approximately 1 1/2 months with the planned sale of Rest Haven.
According to the Republican Herald, the projected closing date has been set for Sept. 1 for the $11 million sale to Investment 360°, of Lakewood, New Jersey, which operates several other nursing facilities and has a good reputation in the industry.
Scarbinsky said Rest Haven’s 122 residents should not see any difference in their lives in “a seamless transition” of ownership and management.
The commissioners signed a letter of intent in May to sell the facility to Investment 360° after Nationwide Healthcare Services, of Brick, New Jersey, withdrew its $12.25 million proposal to buy the facility.
