The Wells Fargo bank will be moving out of the Schuylkill Trust Co. building in downtown Pottsville.
According to the Republican Herald, James A. Baum, a Wells Fargo regional communications representative for Pennsylvania, said, “The specific reasons are customer convenience and overall banking experience.”
On July 13, Jerry Farro, a third-party code inspector for Norwegian Township, approved Wells Fargo’s plans for its new location, 520 Pottsville Park Plaza, next to Weis Markets at 500 Pottsville Park Plaza.
Wells Fargo plans to open the store next to the Weis in the first quarter of 2017.
When that store opens then the store in downtown Pottsville will close. But the freestanding ATM downtown will remain operational even after the move.
