Kane...

The trial for PA State Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane is set to begin August 8th.

Whether a jury will get to hear any part of a conversation between Kane and former Chief Deputy Attorney General Frank Fina’s decision to nix a 2009 investigation into a Philadelphia businessman, is among several issues Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy must decide prior to the trial.

The conversation, which was captured on tape, could be damning evidence against Kane at her upcoming trial in Montgomery County Court on charges relating to the leak.

Kane is charged with leaking information regarding the 2009 grand jury probe to a Philadelphia newspaper reporter to retaliate against Fina, whom she blamed for negative publicity she received for her 2014 decision not to charge several Philadelphia legislators caught on tape accepting bribes.

Demchick-Alloy heard legal arguments on the motions Tuesday. She took the matter under advisement and will issue rulings at a later date.
