The Tamaqua Area Animal Rescue reported that the eagle found Tuesday in South Tamaqua has died.
The eagle was found on Route 443 and taken to the Carbon County Environmental Education Center in Summit Hill by the Tamaqua Animal Rescue.
The bird was in critical condition and had to be euthanized. Jeannie Carl from the CCEEC said that the bird “showed some fight” when given fluids and supportive care at the center before being taken to Dr. Kathryn Kropp at Companion Animal Hospital in Tamaqua.
The Tamaqua Animal Rescue posted that the center received a call from West Penn police and picked up the injured bald eagle near Archery Club Road.
