Tremont’s Mayor Ricky Ney held a press conference Wednesday night to update the flooding situation in the borough, after declaring the area a disaster, earlier in the day.
During his update Ney went over the damages due to the rain and flooding--including the American Legion, St. Peter's UCC Church, and The Family Dollar store.
Fifteen to twenty homes had water up to the first floor and approximately 70 homes total suffered damage from flooding.
The borough is planning for the cleanup and repair process to begin today as Governor Wolf will be touring the area starting at 9-30 this morning.
