Three people were taken into custody and one of them was charged with attempted homicide after an alleged robbery Monday in North Manheim Township.
The Republican Herald reports that the crime occurred at Country Squire Motel, located at 300 Route 61 South, about 4:05 a.m. According to state police at Schuylkill Haven, 30 year old Dennis C. Shafe, of Pottsville;31 yearr old John J. Luback, of Minersville and 25 year old Frank D. Vannicola, of Minersville, were driven to the motel by 26 year old Ashley M. Strumhoffer and went to a room occupied by 32 year old Adam Sturdean, and 31 year old Isaiah Dewan.
Once there, one of the three men kicked at the door and all three were allowed to enter.
Police said Sturdean and Shafe left the room and went outside where a shot was fired by Shafe. A neighbor then called 911 after hearing the gunshot.
All three men were taken into custody, however, state police did not say if Stumhoffer was in custody.
State police said a weapon was recovered at the scene, but there were no reported injuries.
