The Mahanoy City Police Department has announced a permanent option for prescription medication disposal in the borough.
According to Skook News, area residents can now come to the Mahanoy City Borough Hall at 239 E. Pine Street during normal business hours and safely and securely dispose of expired or no longer needed prescription medication.
The secure disposal box was obtained through a grant from the Rite Aid Foundation, at no cost to the borough taxpayers.
The medicine will be removed from the disposal box by the department evidence officer and stored in evidence control until the medication is securely disposed of.
