A driver from Berks County was taken to a hospital over the weekend, after a multivehicle police chase through downtown Tamaqua, which lead to a crash at the 200 block of West Broad Street, Route 209.
The driver was identified as 23 year old Ramon Luis Rodriguez, of Reading.
The car hit a traffic sign before hitting a tree, ultimately coming to rest on the sidewalk near 251 W. Broad St.
Police believe alcohol played a role and charges against Rodriguez are pending.
