Governor Tom Wolf announced Thursday that the Tyson Foods Distribution Center will expand in Schuylkill County.
Tyson Foods plans to add 164,000 square feet to its existing 182,000 square-foot-facility in the Highridge Business Park in Cass Township.
According to a press release from his office, the company has committed to investing at least $59.7 million on the project and was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, an experienced group of economic development professionals who report directly to the governor and work with the local economic development agencies in assisting businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania.
The Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation, or SEDCO, assisted with the Tyson Foods project.
The project and will create 114 new jobs over the next three years.
