A medical marijuana facility is coming to Schuylkill County.
According to the Republican Herald, the state Department of Health issued DocHouse LLC, Elkins Park, a grower/processor permit for its plans for a medical marijuana growing and cultivating facility in Norwegian Township.
The entity tried to secure a permit during the first round of issuances in June 2017, but was denied.
The DOH issued 12 permits for grower/processor and 29 permits for dispensaries before the recent round.
No permits were issued for Schuylkill County previously.
Authorities say the facility could be operational in six months.
