The Schuylkill County Firefighters Convention will be held Saturday in Shenandoah. 

Registration will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Polish American Fire Company No. 4, located at 115 W. Center St. The parade will line up at Bicentennial Field, Herald Road, at the south end of the borough and begin at 1:00pm. 

The parade starts at 1 p.m., and the route is as follows:

• Parade starts at Bicentennial Park/Herald Road (moving east).
• Herald Road to South Bridge Street (moving northeast).
• Traveling (north) on South Bridge Street to East Center Street.
• Turning onto East Center Street (moving west) to North Emerick Street.
• Proceeding on North Emerick Street to East Coal Street.
• Turning onto East Coal Street (moving west) to North Main Street.
• Traveling (south) on North Main Street to West Center Street.
• Turn onto West Center (moving west and passing Polish American Fire Co.) to South Vine Street.
• Proceeding on South Vine Street to West Cherry Street.
• Turn onto West Cherry Street (moving east) to South Main Street.
• Traveling on South Main Street to Herald Road.
• Continue along Herald Road back to Bicentennial Park. There will be refreshments and trophies will be presented, along with live entertainment and vendors.
A parking ban will be in effect for streets along the parade route. Traffic will be detoured around the parade route starting at 11 a.m.
The parking ban is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the following streets:
• Herald Road from South Main Street to South Bridge Street.
• South Bridge Street from Herald Road to East Center Street.
• East Center Street from North Main Street on State Route 54 to Yatesville.
• North Emerick Street from East Center Street to East Coal Street.
• East Coal Street from North Emerick Street to North Main Street.
• North Main Street from East Coal Street to West Center Street.
• West Center Street from Main Street to Vine Street.
• South Vine Street from West Center Street to West Cherry Street.
• West Cherry Street from South Vine Street to South Main Street.
Traffic will be detoured starting at 11 a.m. on the parade day. Traffic is expected to be flowing normally throughout the streets of Shenandoah by 5 p.m.
The following detour routes will be utilized:
• Route 54 westbound to Girardville — Traffic stopped at St. Nicholas Breaker, redirected west on Route 4030 through Gilberton to Girardville.
• Route 54 eastbound to Mahanoy City — Traffic stopped at Krick’s Garage in Girardville, redirected east on Route 4030 to Gilberton and continuing along Route 54.
• Route 924 northbound to Hazleton — Traffic stopped at Redner’s Market intersection, redirected to the Gilberton interchange, east to Mahanoy City and continuing on Route 54 to Interstate 81.
• Route 924 southbound to Frackville — Traffic stopped at West Washington Street, south on Jardin Street to West Poplar Street, east on West Poplar Street, south on Route 924 and continue to Frackville.
