Heavy rains Sunday into Monday, again, caused mass flooding across the region. Among the hardest hit areas was Schuylkill County.
Dozens of families were evacuated from their homes in Port Carbon.
Borough officials said nearly 100 people were still out of their homes Monday night with many of them staying at one of two shelters set up in this Borough.
About 60 people were evacuated in Schuylkill Haven.
According to Schuylkill County Emergency management, Port Carbon, Pine Grove, Tremont, Gilberton, Tower City, Frackville, Frailey Township, Porter Township and Pottsville were affected by the overnight downpours.
The Red Cross has been assisting those displaced as the clean-up is expected to take several days at least.
