Police in New Orleans have arrested a known sex offender from Schuylkill County.
According to court documents, 39 year old Joseph Dunckley was arrested after giving deputies a false name when they visited his home in the 1700 block of Mandeville Street.
Dunckley, who was from the Pine Grove area was listed as a Tier III sex offender in Schuylkill County and authorities have been searching for him since January of 2014 when he failed to comply with registration requirements of the law of a sex offender.
Court records show Dunckley was convicted in Pennsylvania of indecent assault in November 2006, and of indecent assault of a child under 13 in May 2007. Dunckley's victim in that incident was 4 years old.
It was not immediately known whether authorities in PA will seek Dunckley's extradition.
Dunckley's bond was set at $10,000 when he appeared Friday in Orleans Parish Magistrate Court.
His next court appearance was set for Sept. 11.
