Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane announced that she will resign her position as Attorney General effective at the close of business day, today.
Kane’s office made the announcement yesterday, amid pressure from the governor and lawmakers, one day after jurors found her guilty of abusing her power and lying to cover it up.
Kane's exit completes a fall for the state's highest-ranking female politician. She man now be facing jail time and has had her law license suspended.
Kane's lawyers have vowed to appeal.
