The North Schuylkill school board has approved two change orders that will more than double the cost of the upper parking lot project.
According to the Republican Herald, the original general construction contact with Lobar Inc., Dillsburg, included the upper parking lot, which was originally planned to be a milling and overlay project.
However, the parking lot and bus traffic circle at the high school entrance deteriorated to such a degree during last winter that the paving project was removed from the overall school district facilities upgrade project now in progress and was expanded into a separate project.
The two approved change orders added more than a half million dollars to the projected cost.
