A jury convicted 32 year old Juan J. Perez, of Pottsville, Thursday, in Schuylkill County Court, of kidnapping a man in December 2016 in Shenandoah and taking him to Reading.
Shenandoah police alleged Perez and two other men kidnapped 26 year old William Murphy, of Shenandoah, from a borough street about 8 a.m. forced him to return to his residence, kept him there for several hours and then drove him to Reading.
President Judge William E. Baldwin, revoked his $250,000 straight cash bail, returned Perez to prison, and said he would schedule sentencing at a later date.
