A woman on a bicycle was seriously injured Friday when she was struck by a vehicle.
According to State Police at Frackville, 63 year old Nina Day, of Barnesville, was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle driven by 78 year old Leonard Kurpell, of Mahanoy City.
Police say Day was struck by Kurpell on Foothill Street, in Ryan Township. She was thrown from her bicycle onto the roadside and suffered serious leg injuries.
Day was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest for her injuries.
Kurpell was not injured.
