Two Port Carbon sisters were selling hot dogs and baked goods in front of their Port Carbon home Monday afternoon for a special cause.
7 year old Lily and 9 year old Ava Walsh were raising money for the Chief of Police, Joe Ferraro, who is battling cancer for the second time.
There were concerns council members would get rid of Ferraro which led to a crowd of supporters gathering at Port Carbon Borough Hall, Monday night, as Council members held an executive session behind closed doors.
Mayor Chuck Joy announced a positive resolution will be made soon about Ferraro and he thanked the crowd for its support.
The girls plan to fundraiser again Wednesday and Friday, although they shattered their goal Monday by raising more than $800.
The council's next meeting is September 12 at 7 p.m.
