Tamaqua police and the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office are investigating the Tuesday morning death of an infant.
According to the Republican Herald, Tamaqua EMS and police were called around 2:30 a.m. to a home in the borough for a report of an infant in cardiac arrest.
The child was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital-Miners Campus, Coaldale, where he could not be revived.
Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Joseph Pothering, Minersville, identified the child as 4 month old Jaxon Hutta.
Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David J. Moylan III said a CT scan was conducted on the infant, Tuesday and a full forensic autopsy will be conducted within the next 24 to 48 hours.
The cause of death is listed as undetermined until the results of the CT scan and autopsy are available.
