A fast-burning fire that destroyed two properties in Schuylkill County, Tuesday morning, has been ruled arson.
Emergency personnel were called out to 38-40 W. Water St., Route 209 in Coaldale for a working structure fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy flames coming from the double home that was believed to be vacant. Authorities believe the fire was intentionally started in the basement of one of the buildings and spread quickly to the upper floors.
The investigation into the fire continues and anyone with information is asked to call borough police at 570-645-3060 or the Schuylkill County Communications Center at 570-668-6100.
