A Schuylkill Haven man died in Berks County on Tuesday night as he attempted to flee from police on a motorcycle and hit another vehicle.
According to the Republican Herald, state police at Hamburg said 49 year old Kenneth Ferraiolo was driving on state Route 61, Pottsville Pike, at 8:05 p.m., when a state trooper on patrol attempted to stop him for traffic violations.
Ferraiolo fled and was traveling at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the driver’s side door of a 1999 Nissan Altima driven by 47 year old Jeffrey Searfoss, of Mohrsville, Berks County.
Police said he was wearing a helmet but died on scene from his injuries.
Ferraiolo was the owner of Weller’s Chimney Sweeps, based in Orwigsburg.
