31 year old Daniel M. Saranchak III, of Port Carbon, has become a state prison inmate after admitting recently to Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin, that he possessed a gun and drugs in Pottsville.
Pottsville police charged Saranchak with possessing the gun, drugs and paraphernalia on April 14.
Baldwin ruled that Saranchak must now serve 6 1/2 to 15 years in a state correctional institution. He is serving his sentence at SCI/Camp Hill in Cumberland County.
Saranchak’s father, Daniel M. Saranchak, is serving a life sentence at SCI/Greene for murdering his grandmother and uncle in October 1993 in East Norwegian Township.
