Police in Evansville, Indiana say there is no evidence officers used deadly force during an incident in which a Schuylkill County man died in police custody.
A police report states that officers were called to a local business for the report of an intoxicated man in a restricted area. Officers tried to detain the man, later identified as 55 year old Edward Snukis, who refused to cooperate and assaulted an officer.
Snukis attempted to flee by foot and was restrained. He later became unresponsive and was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The cause of death is still under investigation.
