Patrick Reese, the former head of security for former state attorney general Kathleen Kane has been fired from the attorney general's office.
Attorney General Bruce Beemer, on his second day in office, also fired Jonathan Duecker, a deputy attorney general who served as chief of staff. Reese is the former Dunmore police chief and former driver and head of Kathleen Kane's security detail.
He was convicted of indirect criminal contempt for snooping through email in the attorney general's office to find information on a grand jury investigation of his then boss, Kathleen Kane.
Even though he was sentenced to spend three to six months in jail, he is out while he appeals his case, which is expected to be ruled on in late October or early November.
Kane resigned as attorney general after her conviction on perjury charges in Montgomery County court last month.
