Mold found...

There are more mold issues at the John S. Clarke Elementary Center, in Pottsville.

According to the Republican Herald, the school opened a week late, on Sept. 4, due to the presence of mold discovered in late August.

The district first hired a company from Camp Hill to re-mediate the problem and test air quality before classes could resume.

However, when the students came back, a first-grade teacher found mold in her classroom.

On Monday, a school psychologist found mold on some items in her office and, on Tuesday, another teacher found mold in the teacher’s lounge.

Superintendent Jeffrey S. Zwiebel said the elementary center is the only school affected and the district has been consulting experts about the problem.

Cumberland Valley Analytical Services, Waynesboro, is assisting.
