Child Safety...

Rush Township police have announced an enforcement effort, beginning Sunday and running through Sept. 29 that aims to reduce child injuries and fatalities in vehicles.

According to the Republican Herald, police will join highway safety partners statewide providing child passenger safety information, presentations, fitting stations and, if necessary, will write citations.

Police will also use traffic enforcement zones, which combine enforcement patrol and checkpoint tactics on roadways with high numbers of unbuckled crashes.

Rush Township officers, along with Buckle Up PA and the Pennsylvania Traffic Injury Prevention Project, announced their partnership in the effort which coincides with National Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week and highlights National Seat Check Saturday on Sept. 29.
