Six people have been left homeless after a fire destroyed two houses in Schuylkill Haven early Thursday morning.
Fire crews were called out around 4 a.m., for a working structure fire, at 15 E. Liberty St. and found the outside of the home engulfed in flames.
The fire was upgraded to a second alarm, damaging two homes.
Schuylkill Haven Assistant Fire Chief James Reed said the blaze originated on the back porch of the home at 15 E. Liberty St. and spread to an attached home at 17 E. Liberty St.
Reed did not specifically say what sparked the blaze, but stated the cause, was ruled as accidental.
