Recent flooding has cost the Pottsville Free Public Library about $25,000 in damages and repairs this summer.
According to the Republican Herald, the library basement was inundated four times this summer, resulting in wet drywall and elevator problems.
The library’s elevator was out of service from Friday until Wednesday and because it’s a multi-floor structure, it is required by law to have a working elevator.
Some recent events had to be postponed, including book sales.
The library is asking for the public’s help by showing their support and donating.
