38 year old Michael D. Marchalk of Barnesville, will go on trial in December, facing charges of first, second and third-degree murder.
According to the Republican Herald, state police at Frackville charged Marchalk with killing his father, Gary D. Marchalk, a prominent lawyer and former assistant district attorney, by beating him with a baseball bat on June 18 at the residence they shared at 21 Pear St., Barnesville, Ryan Township.
President Judge William E. Baldwin will preside over the trial which is scheduled to begin on Dec. 10.
Police arrested Michael Marchalk on June 23, 2017, on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where they said he had fled after killing his father.
