A community in Schuylkill County paid tribute, Thursday, to the man who put pierogies on the map.
Ted Twardzik, Sr. founded Mrs. T's Pierogies in Shenandoah, naming the company after his mother Mary who was the cook behind the secret recipe. 65 years later, Mrs. T's manufactures about 16-million of the Polish dumplings every week.
Nearly 100 people came out to Girard Park Thursday night for the debut of a documentary in Ted's honor on what would've been his 90th birthday.
The borough of Shenandoah has even declared September 7th as "Ted Twardzik, Sr. Day".
