Blighted properties in Shenandoah...
by News Department on 06/19/15People living near three properties on Race and Coal Streets, in Shenandoah, say they are frustrated with the situation and say they fear for their safety.
The Borough filed a charge of Public Nuisance against the former owner Mario Cruz and a hearing was held in District Court Thursday. The Judge ruled there was enough evidence to send the case to Schuylkill County Court for trial.
According to Cruz, when he bought the properties, he had no idea they were so damaged.
Shenandoah Building Inspector Carl Faust said Cruz transferred ownership of the homes to his brother in May.
