Schuylkill County wants to reduce violence and strengthen families, and the commissioners voted Wednesday to seek money to achieve those goals.
The Republican Herald reports that the commissioners will ask the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency for $350,000 over two years beginning June 1.
According to County Administrator Gary R. Bender, no matching funds are required.
The county will apply for the grant no later than the Feb. 7 deadline on behalf of the Mental Health & Developmental Services.
