A large EBT system outage was reported Wednesday afternoon. Skook News reports that the SNAP EBT system is currently down for areas in the Northeast United States, as far west as Illinois.
Reports on the website Down Detector said the system wasn’t working across the U.S., with EBT users reporting widespread problems.
The outage started around 11:00am and as of 2:00pm systems were still down stores are unable to process purchases.
The EBT Program is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
No further information is yet available.
