Capt. Kevin M. Polito, commanding officer of the Salvation Army Pottsville Corps, will be leaving his post to go on medical leave.
According to the Republican Herald, he made the announcement Thursday, citing personal reasons and stated that he and his family will be moving to Delaware.
Polito would not elaborate further on his reasons for leaving.
His last day of work at the Salvation Army Pottsville Corps, 400 Sanderson St., Pottsville, will be sometime in the next two weeks.
Lt. Col. Stephen W. Banfield, divisional commander at The Salvation Army Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware, Divisional Headquarters, Philadelphia, said arrangements have been made to fill the vacancy.
