DSI receives grant...

The Downtown Shenandoah Inc. innovation center project will receive a state grant to help with the purchase of property where the center is planned to be constructed.

A media release on Monday from state Rep. Neal P. Goodman, D-123, Mahanoy City, and state Sen. David G. Argall, R-29, Rush Township, announced that DSI will receive a $22,000 grant awarded by the state Department of Community and Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program.

DSI is working in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Downtown Center and its nonprofit development subsidiary, Keystone CORE Services, for the reuse of the vacant property at 113-125 N. Main St., with the current focus on building and operating a three-story innovation/entrepreneur center.
