A Mahanoy City car dealership owner has been charged after he allegedly rolled back the odometer on a vehicle he sold.
According to Skook News, State Police at Reading charged 58 year old George Mammarella, owner of Village Auto in Mahanoy City, after an investigation found that he sold a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado for $10,000 with only 61,000 miles on it on May 19, 2018.
The investigation found that even though the odometer showed 61,000 miles, the vehicle had logged 344,174 miles.
Mammarella was charged with theft by deception, deceptive business practices and several other counts.
